Sheillah's studio is located in southeast Wisconsin near Lake Michigan. Sheillah can make Custom Hand Glazed Tiles for any décor. Sheillah uses special unglazed standard-sized 4 ¼" x 4 ¼" or 6" x 6" tiles. She then draws the design on the unglazed tile using high-quality glazes that are available in two types. One group is thin in consistency and reminiscent of water-colors, while the other group is more solid and heavy-bodied like paint. The detail is stunning, and infinite gradations of color are possible. Or she can work with bold strokes in primary colors. The design is integral to the glaze, not merely covered with glaze. The glazes have special properties, and change color subtly as they bake. When Sheillah fires the tile in the kiln, the glaze fuses to the surface, producing a permanent baked-on finish that can be scrubbed and will never fade. Single tiles work well as accents, or entire panels and murals can be made to order. The tiles can be interspersed or integrated into walls or countertops in bathrooms or kitchens to suit any purpose. Tabletops are another application. The tiles can be used outdoors except where freezing would be a problem. Sheillah can copy any design, artwork, photograph, landscape, logo, pattern, or child's drawing onto her Custom Hand Glazed Tiles and they will match the joint pattern of the background tiles.
